Classes of Membership Certified Group Psychotherapist Members Certified group psychotherapist members are defined as individuals having achieved and maintained such recognition by the International Board for Certification of Group Psychotherapists. Certified group psychotherapist members in good standing may participate fully in the affairs of the society by such activities as voting, serving on committees, and holding office. Professional Members Professional members are defined as: Clinicians or other professionals who have more than five year’s experience in the field and an interest in therapeutic, educational and/or consulting groups. Professional members in good standing may participate fully in the affairs of the society by such activities as voting, serving on committees, and holding office. Early Career Professional Members Early career professionals are clinicians or other professionals who have 5 years or less experience in the field and an interest in therapeutic, educational and/or consulting groups. Early career professional members in good standing may participate fully in the affairs of the society, including such activities as voting, serving on committees, and holding designated board positions for this membership category. Student Members Individuals matriculated in full-time degree or residency programs or individuals enrolled in full-time certificate-granting programs, in the mental health professions and allied fields for as long as they remain in those programs qualify as student members. This membership shall be held on a year-to-year basis. The annual membership dues for each class of membership are displayed in the table below. PLEASE NOTE: Our membership year begins on July 1st and ends on June 30th the following year. To remain in good standing, membership dues must be paid in full and settled each year before June 30th. Failure to pay on time will result in suspension of membership privileges.
